On this day...
On this day, 7 years ago.....
I was still somewhatly single. It would be my last day of being unmarried.
Yes, that last day of unweddedness... (is this a word?)
I remember we went Kayaking for my "bachelor party". I'm pretty sure this was the last time I ever went to Cave Country Canoes. One of our Canoes had a leak, which really bummed the trip a bit, and all they would do is give me a "get a free pass" next time coupon. What? So I can sink again? No WAY!!
errm... anyhooo... apparently that's still a bit sore.
The kayaking trip was fun tho, Dad and all the guys were there. Of course, after we all got done, I was hijacked, a ball and chain was attached to my leg, I was made to believe the key was thrown away, and then sprayed with doe scent.
Thankfully, there were showers of sorts at the kayaking place where I could try and minimize the scent. It was still really bad.
I can't remember if this was the night we had our rehearsal for the wedding or not. It seems to me we did that on a Thursday night, but I could be wrong. That was a great time of course, and my family put on "wedding tales" (a wedding version of veggie tales) for the rehearsal dinner. A great time was had by all I'm sure. If they weren't having a great time, they were trying to figure out what on earth the "loons" I was related too were doing.
Then of course that night trying to fall asleep. I really don't think I had a problem tho. It was just the right thing to do ya know? Getting married to AnnaMay was just so right. I remember asking myself, "am I nervous? Should I be nervous? Should it make me nervous I'm not nervous?"
That's about all the highlights I remember on this day 7 years ago.
You can read about last years anniversary happenings here. This year, I thought about making sure I had the truck already washed, so's I wouldn't worry about it on our anniversary like last year. That way this year I would be sure to do something better than last year for the occasion. Like waxing the truck or something. That'd be better.
Ok, so not really. It was a funny thought tho, you gotta admit.
Not real sure what we're going to be doing tomorrow to celebrate, if anything. It is a Sunday after all, and we'll be attending our two services at church tomorrow. That's something we both dearly love to do, and it is a reflection of one of the pivotal things that ties AnnaMay and I together. So even if that's all we did tomorrow, I think that'd be enough. And it'd be better than shopping and truck washing like last years "celebration".
AnnaMay and I have been having short conversations (all you get with 3 kids sometimes is short conversations) about what we remember throughout this past week. It's been nice reminiscing about the old days, and how far the Lord has brought us.
I was just thinking that Jacob worked for Rachel for 7 years... well 14 I guess... but anyhow...(that one just didn't work the way I wanted it to) these 7 years with my sweetie have just flown by, sure that was a big commitment for Jacob to make, but it's just so worth it.
Would you work for 7 years for the one you love?
It's been a wonderful 6 years and 364 days...

Congrats on your 7 year anniversary. Our 2 year is coming up on us quickly. You've sure gone a long way since the last time I saw you. Married, a few kids, etc! Well, I'm only a bit behind you I guess.
As always, it would be great to get together sometime. When it works out that we're in the same neighbourhood, let's meet up.
