Vacation Day
On Monday I took the day off for us to take the kids on a promised trip to the Children's Museum in Indianapolis. Since we had the whole day, we decided to hit the Zoo too. This was in lieu of Azariah having a birthday party.
The Zoo had some aquarium parts to it as well that were nice. Above is the very nice dolphin show. This seemed to be everyone's favorite part.
I saw the roller coaster, and decided to take the boys on their first roller coaster ride. Zion loved it. Azariah was a bit excited here, but I think it was a bit intense for him. It really wasn't much of a trill ride, but for a 6 year old, I can see how it was a bit tense.

The kids climbed on the rocks a bit. The Indianapolis museum is very pretty. It's nice and shady.

The big attraction was the star wars stuff. Here's the kids in some star wars dress up.

Overall, I liked the Indianapolis Zoo, but I'm not sure I liked it better than Louisville's, it's a bit different. If Louisville had a dolphin show, it would definitely be better. Cinncinatti wins the best Zoo within 150 miles in my book still.
Glorianna tries a block puzzle at the Children's museum. All the kids love puzzles. I think they did just about every puzzle they found at the museum.
Azariah puts some spikes on a stegasaurus' back.
Here's Glorianna and Yoda hanging out.
On the way home, we stopped at the Edinburgh outlet mall to do a little shopping, and finished the trip home, with a stop to pickup some pizza since we were too tired to cook dinner.
Overall it was a nice vacation day. It's probably the only big thing we'll do this summer, until later in September or October.

uh sweetie...that is a giraffe...not a zebra...
but the zoo DID have a nice zebra AND giraffe exhibit.
